Nuance Dragon Apps with IVR Capabilities Expand Global Presence with the Ukrainian Language

Since December 2009, Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search have delivered the innovation of Nuance (News - Alert) Communications, Inc.’s Dragon voice recognition to millions of users across North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East. Now with recent availability in Ukraine, the Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search apps are available in a total of 20 European countries.


Today, Nuance’s Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search applications for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad are available for free in the Ukraine App Store to support the Ukrainian language, expanding the Dragon Apps’ global presence.

“We’re very excited to continue expanding our global reach, bringing the power of Dragon to rapidly growing mobile markets like Ukraine,” said Michael Thompson (News - Alert), executive vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile, in a statement.

Nuance, a provider of voice and language solutions for businesses and consumers across the world, offers technologies that enhance the user experience by transforming the way people interact with devices.  

With availability of the Dragon Apps in 38 countries, the launch will now offer Ukrainian consumers a faster and easier way to send text messages and e-mails, update Twitter (News - Alert) and Facebook and search for Web content by speaking.

Dragon Dictation is iOS-6 compatible and features a toolbar with app icons that enable users to access e-mail, SMS, Facebook (News - Alert) or Twitter status bars, or the clipboard. Dragon Search allows users to speak any search query to quickly find information on the mobile Web. Dragon Search features Nuance’s Dragon Search Carousel, which delivers smarter search results across multiple channels at once including Google, Yahoo, Twitter, iTunes, Wikipedia and YouTube (News - Alert).

 Thompson added, “It’s clear that consumers all over the world love voice as a mobile interface and want more of it – demonstrated by the apps’ success in reaching the number one and number two spots in free apps in nearly every country launched.”
